Snow Joke at Muddy Boots!
Several centimetres of snow greeted the runners taking part in this year’s St Wilfred’s School Muddy Boots 10k. This multi terrain race has become a popular fixture on the local racing calendar with 178 runners even in this year’s conditions, and many Ripon Runners took part again this year. There were several successes for the club with both the male and female teams wining the team prizes and age category prizes for Richard Ebbage, Suzanne Rickard and John Grundy and also a prize for Ben Imeson as the first school dad home. The race was won by Matthew John of Otley AC in a time of 36.00 with Ripon’s first finisher being 5th placed Richard Ebbage in 40.42, followed by 6th placed Simon Cave 40.55, 10th placed Alex Fawcett 43.00, Ben Imeson 43.31, Simon Merrin 43.55, Gary Wilks 47.38, Paul Walker 49.17, Nigel Bower 49.29, Allan Hansen 50.59, Matt Holt 51.54, Suzanne Rickard 53.08, Chris Bennett 54.00, John Grundy 54.06, Chris I’Anson 54.21, Jill Holt 55.16, Lisa Sorby 55.45, Simon McCudden 57.30, Caroline Bentham 1.01.25, Annette Stainthorpe 1.03.38, Julie Merrin 1.05.57, Hilary Gilliam 1.06.03, John Bull 1.06.15, Vicky Clayton 1.08.41, Doug Tooth 1.18.42.
