Ripon Runners was founded in 1984 as road running began its extraordinary ascendancy from the sport of eccentrics to probably Britain’s most participated in athletic activity. Our president, Monty Munson, now in his 80’s and still running, was one of our founder members as was Rodney Mills who in his seventies has found new fame as Britain’s over 70 indoor champion at 400 metres.

Juniors in form at Catterick
The clubs junior ‘minis’ section had another great performance, this time at the North Yorkshire Schools Cross Country held at Catterick Racecourse on Sunday 22 March.
Orienteering Sprint Champs
Stan Appleton made it two races in two days as he also competed at the Yorkshire Orienteering Sprint Championships at RAF Linton on Ouse, York. He had a podium finish claiming third ultra-vet from a field of 36.
