Ripon Runners was founded in 1984 as road running began its extraordinary ascendancy from the sport of eccentrics to probably Britain’s most participated in athletic activity. Our president, Monty Munson, now in his 80’s and still running, was one of our founder members as was Rodney Mills who in his seventies has found new fame as Britain’s over 70 indoor champion at 400 metres.

Kim Holden crossed the Atlantic to participate in the Boston Marathon last week. The historic course is a point to point linear route, and starts on Main Street in the rural New England town of Hopkinton before finishing in Boston. The weather was hot and proved testing for all, but Kim still managed a time of 4:42:18.
A large group of RRs took to the streets of the capital for the worlds largest marathon. Ben Pease celebrated his 18th birthday in style by breaking the 35 minute barrier at the undulating Fountains 10k.
