Ripon Runners was founded in 1984 as road running began its extraordinary ascendancy from the sport of eccentrics to probably Britain’s most participated in athletic activity. Our president, Monty Munson, now in his 80’s and still running, was one of our founder members as was Rodney Mills who in his seventies has found new fame as Britain’s over 70 indoor champion at 400 metres.

Pieces of 8 Half Marathon
Claire Baker completed the Pieces of 8 half marathon in Sunderland. Kettlewell Fell Race
Martin Gabriel took part in the kettlewell BOFRA fell race . With 600ft over just 1.4 miles this was steep up and down. Very tricky scree and slippery grass down a fell side makes this a tough course and Martin did very well with a 19 minute finish.
Even Splits 5k - York
The latest 5k race in the series was held in York with more fantastic results. Angie Benson ran in the B category and came 9th in 24 minutes 12 seconds. Running in the A category Simon Cave was 13th in 17.58 with Douglas Scott in 18th in 18.35.
